Rogards to help businesses improve energy efficiency - 10% of revenues to be donated to IGBA

CHAMPAIGN, IL (February 11, 2015) – Rogards Office Plus will help area businesses reduce their energy usage this winter by looking at their lighting.

Rogards consulted with IGBA to learn about the energy landscape and build the program to best fit business needs. “Lighting is one of the easiest ways to reduce your power bill and overall facility energy use,” says Cassie Carrol, Executive Director of the Illinois Green Business Association (IGBA). “That’s why it’s one of the first items we focus on when completing facility assessments for our green certification program. Converting florescent lighting to more energy-efficient bulbs, such as LEDs, can lead to a noticeable reduction in operating costs. We tell our clients that every day you wait to retrofit your equipment is a day you’re spending more than you need to on utilities.”

Rogards Office Plus is launching a program to help businesses reduce their energy costs while also taking advantage of the rebates available from Ameren Illinois’ ActOnEnergy program for converting existing fluorescent tube lighting to LED bulbs.

Beginning in February, businesses will be able to purchase LED tube lighting from Rogards that fit in existing florescent lighting fixtures without any additional electrical work. Rogards will conduct facility assessments to calculate savings and return on investment, facilitate rebate paperwork, and coordinate invoicing and delivery. Rogards will also be donating a portion of their proceeds from this program to the IGBA to support the growth of more green businesses in our community.

Rogards CEO Chad Hoffman says, “We’re very happy to donate 10% of the total revenues for the LED lighting projects to the Illinois Green Business Association. They’ve helped numerous businesses in Illinois make the switch to fluorescents in recent years, and LEDs are the next step in the progression. As a green certified business, Rogards is excited to make use of the knowledge and expertise at IGBA to meet our goal of offering sustainable solutions that make business sense.”
